What does CatfishTracker actually do?

You upload a profile photo and our AI analyses it for signs of manipulation, AI generation, deepfakes, heavy filters, and inconsistencies. You get a plain-English report with an authenticity score, usually within 15 seconds.

How accurate is the analysis?

Our AI detects patterns that are statistically associated with fake or manipulated photos. Results are estimates, not certainties. A clean result does not guarantee a photo is genuine, and a suspicious result does not prove it is fake. Always use your own judgment alongside the report.

What types of photos can I check?

Any profile photo from any platform: Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, or anywhere else online. JPG, PNG, and WebP formats are supported, up to 5 MB.

Does it work on screenshots?

Yes. Screenshots work, though the AI analysis is more accurate on original photo files because screenshots remove all metadata and can introduce compression artefacts.

What is metadata and why does it matter?

Metadata (EXIF data) is hidden information embedded in a photo file: when it was taken, what device was used, and sometimes GPS location. Most messaging apps and social platforms strip this data before delivery. Our AI visual analysis still works on stripped photos, but the metadata section of the report will show nothing if it has been removed.

What does "stripped" mean?

When you send a photo via WhatsApp, Instagram, Tinder or most messaging apps, they automatically remove all hidden metadata (GPS location, device model, date taken) before delivery. This is called "stripping." Our AI analysis still works on stripped photos, but the EXIF metadata section will show nothing if the data has been removed.

Do you store the photos I upload?

No. Photos are processed immediately for AI analysis and are never stored permanently. They are deleted within seconds of the analysis completing.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Photos are never shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What is included in the free plan?

2 full AI analysis checks per 30-day period, at no cost. No credit card required.

What is the difference between Pro and Unlimited?

Pro gives you 20 checks per month for €4.99/month. Unlimited gives you unlimited checks per month for €9.99/month. Both include full AI analysis and detailed reports.

What are Top-Up credits?

If you run out of checks on the free or Pro plan, you can buy 3 extra checks for €2.99. They never expire.

What happens to unused checks?

Checks reset 30 days after your last reset. Unused checks do not roll over. Top-Up credits do not expire.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments are processed entirely by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment providers. We never see or store your card number or payment details.

Can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused checks. If you experienced a technical failure, contact us and we will handle it on a case-by-case basis.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, anytime. No penalties, no questions asked.

How do I cancel my subscription?

1. Go to your Dashboard 2. Click "Subscription" in the left sidebar 3. You will be taken to the Stripe billing portal 4. Click on your active plan 5. Click "Cancel plan" 6. Confirm. Your access stays active until the end of the current billing period.

What happens after I cancel?

Your Pro or Unlimited access continues until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that, your account reverts to the free plan (2 checks per month).
